UAE: To support the objectives of the UAE’s national policy to attract and retain the greatest global talent and creative minds in the country, the Ministry of Economy (MoE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with LinkedIn, the leading worldwide online professional platform.
Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and Ali Matar, Head of LinkedIn EMEA Venture Markets, Middle East and Africa, signed the MoU. The cooperation demonstrates the Ministry’s commitment to investing in human capital and fostering talent, which are the cornerstones of a more varied, adaptable, and long-term economic system.
Al Zeyoudi emphasized the MoE’s desire to strengthen cooperation and increase partnerships between the public and commercial sectors, noting that the MoU aims to cement the UAE’s position as one of the world’s most competitive talent markets. He noted that this latest collaboration is an important step forward in the Ministry’s efforts to improve the UAE’s ability to attract and retain global talent by implementing promising approaches and programs. A strategy method has been established to investigate the benefits of attracting specific talents from across the world based on data and to develop coordinated action plans to help them thrive in a supportive and appealing environment.
He also stated that the Ministry has implemented an integrated strategy that includes a set of policies, programs, facilities, and initiatives aimed at motivating and attracting highly qualified and talented people to the UAE, as well as transforming their ambitious ideas into viable projects and enhancing their role in shaping the future.
According to the agreement, LinkedIn will assist the Ministry in three areas: developing a comprehensive introductory framework for talent based on skills; normative and strategic studies and research to identify talent groups around the world, and launching campaigns to attract and retain talent in the UAE. LinkedIn will use these pillars to create graphic studies that classify talents groups based on targeted skills from around the world, classify their position and professional history, and identify the types of talents and skills they possess in order to aid in the development of policies that attract them. LinkedIn will also focus on establishing a global campaign to improve understanding of talent requirements and create communication mechanisms with them. At the same time, it will inform talented individuals from outside the UAE about the great opportunities and prestigious working environment that the UAE has to offer.
LinkedIn will work with the Ministry’s team to develop collaborative action plans that will help the Ministry’s national talent attraction and retention strategies, as well as support strategic initiatives and national activities to attract talent and share expertise and views in this field.
