UAE weather alert: Thunder and lightning hit the coast, rain showers sweep across the UAE today

The UAE is experiencing scattered rainfall, thunder and lightning with light to moderate showers expected throughout the day.Insta account storm_ae shared a video early this morning showing light to moderate rain accompanied by lightning and thunder along the UAE coast, offering a dramatic glimpse into today’s unsettled weather.According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), early morning rain was recorded over several areas, including Ghantoot and Al Smeeh in Abu Dhabi, Dalma Island, and multiple locations in Ras Al Khaimah, such as Ghalilah, Shaam, Al Rams, Al Halah, and Al Ghayl. In Dubai, light rain was recorded in areas like Deira, Al Aweer, and even the iconic Palm Jumeirah. Meanwhile, Ajman and Al Dhaid in Sharjah also see light showers, while Umm Al Quwain and the Al Dhafra region are experiencing light to moderate rainfall.
