DUBAI: The UAE Space Agency met with a Hungarian team to discuss ways to strengthen collaboration in the burgeoning global space sector, particularly in terms of spatial research and astronautic operations.
Salem Butti Dr. Orsolya Ferencz, Ministerial Commissioner for Space Research at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Salem Al Qubaisi, Director-General of the UAE Space Agency, met with a high-ranking delegation of senior officials led by Dr. Orsolya Ferencz, Ministerial Commissioner for Space Research at the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, to strengthen ties in space research, earth surveillance, technology utilization, and knowledge transfer.
In collaboration with the UAE Space Agency, the conference took held in the Hungary Pavilion during Expo 2020 Dubai’s Space Week. Hungary’s goal of sending an astronaut to the International Space Station (ISS) by 2024, the European country’s desire to launch a research satellite into space, and the development of an onboard monitoring system to be put on the ISS were among the topics addressed by the two.
They also talked about the United Arab Emirates’ upcoming expedition to investigate Venus and the Asteroid Belt between Jupiter and Mars. The next interplanetary project, which will be five times more complicated than the Emirates Mars Mission, will launch in 2028 and will carry out a five-year research mission.
As part of the UAE’s objective to encourage prosperity and human advancement for the next 50 years, Al Qubaisi noted that the new mission will help to establish Emirati aerospace enterprises, create new talent, and strengthen collaboration with worldwide research centers.
