Dubai: As part of its World Energy Day campaign, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) will host a series of events at its Expo 2020 Dubai pavilion to highlight the importance of the initiative, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, in collaboration with 54 countries, representatives from the United Nations, the Arab League, and the African Union.
DEWA is holding a World Energy Day awareness campaign at its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, at the Sustainability Pavilion, from the 20th to the 23rd of October, to introduce visitors to its significant projects and pioneering new activities that promote the pillars of World Energy Day.
Visitors can register by scanning QR codes at DEWA’s pavilion to access an online portal. Winners of competitions are eligible to receive significant prizes. DEWA invites the public to download the World Energy Day toolkit from its website, which contains visuals and information that can be readily shared on social media.
DEWA invites everyone to use the hashtag #WorldEnergyDay to encourage friends and family to practice conservation in little ways. Members of the public are also encouraged to sign the Green Pledge on DEWA’s website’s World Energy Day section. The Green Pledge urges individuals to demonstrate a personal commitment to the environment by implementing waste reduction and conservation measures at home.
