Dubai :Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan arrived in New Delhi on Tuesday, April 8, marking the beginning of his first official visit to India, Dubai Media Office confirmed.The two-day trip, taking place at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conclude on April 9. Kicking off the visit, Sheikh Hamdan met with the Indian Prime Minister on the first day.Following the meeting, the Dubai Crown Prince took to social media to share his reflections, saying: “Our discussions affirmed the strength of the UAE-India relationship, a relationship built on trust, shaped by history, and driven by our shared vision for a future of opportunity, innovation, and sustainable prosperity.”Earlier, Sheikh Hamdan met with Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar. He is also set to meet with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh later today.During this official trip, the Dubai Crown Prince will hold talks with senior officials on ways to strengthen partnership and cooperation between the the UAE and India.His visit aims to strengthen bilateral ties and explore opportunities for enhanced cooperation between the two counties.Earlier in the day, Sheikh Hamdan received a warm welcome upon his arrival in New Delhi airport. He was greeted by Suresh Gopi, India’s Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Tourism.In a video shared by Asian News International (ANI) , the two were seen warmly exchanging greetings, hands clasped in a gesture of mutual respect. Sheikh Hamdan also walked a red carpet as he was saluted by officials lined up to welcome him.On April 9, the second day of this official trip, Sheikh Hamdan will visit Mumbai. During the visit, he will also participate in a business roundtable with prominent business leaders from both sides.In recent years, bilateral ties between the UAE and India have strengthened under the leadership of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed and Narendra Modi. In 2024, the UAE President received a warm welcome in India after landing in Gujarat to attend the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit as the chief guest of the summit.
