ABU DHABI: 14th October, 2020: The UAE sent a second aid plane carrying 12 metric tonnes of medical supplies and testing kits was to Costa Rica on Wednesday. The aid aims to assist approximately 12,000 medical professionals working to contain the COVID-19 virus.
UAE Ambassador to Costa Rica, Juma Al Rumaithi, commented that the aid is part of supporting the outstanding bilateral relations between the two countries and boosting Costa Rican efforts in the fight against the virus. He also talked about the first plane that supplied 8.5 metric tonnes of medical supplies in June.
The UAE has provided over 1510 metric tonnes of aid to 118 countries, supporting more than 1.5 million medical professionals to date as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
