Dubai, : Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated a large-scale renewal of road markings across 89 locations in the Emirate, spanning main highways, residential areas, and intersections. The works form part of RTA’s 2025 Preventive Maintenance Plan, aimed at ensuring road safety and improving infrastructure clarity for motorists.The re-striping efforts will cover 50 major roads, including Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street, First Al Khail Road, and 2nd December Street. In addition, 39 residential zones such as Al Awir, Al Twar, and Al Barsha will undergo marking enhancements.Key components of the project include repainting red surfacing in speed reduction areas, re-marking box junctions, and refreshing markings for paid parking and traffic-calming devices.Abdulla Ali Lootah, Director of the Roads and Facilities Maintenance Department, emphasized the project’s scope: “Over 30,000 linear metres of road markings will be repainted to maintain high safety standards and support Dubai’s leadership in road infrastructure.” He added that the RTA is employing advanced technologies and high-quality materials to ensure durability and minimal disruption during the repainting process.The initiative aligns with RTA’s Traffic Safety Strategy and reflects its commitment to proactive infrastructure maintenance and global road safety excellence.
