The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in Dubai has announced the successful completion of a series of traffic enhancement projects in the Nad Al Sheba area. The improvements aim to boost traffic flow, reduce congestion, and support the emirate’s rapid urban development. The enhancements include the addition of a new entry and exit point for vehicles coming from Meydan Street, significantly improving accessibility to the area. Furthermore, the intersection at Latifa bint Hamdan Street and Nad Al Sheba Street has been converted into a roundabout with a single-lane capacity in each direction, optimizing traffic circulation.According to Abdulla Ali Lootah, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance Management at the Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA, the initiative is a vital step toward streamlining travel times and accommodating growing traffic demands.
“Nad Al Sheba is one of the key areas in Dubai. The introduction of an additional entry and exit point reduces travel time for vehicles arriving from Meydan Street and heading to Nad Al Sheba Street by up to 60%,” said Lootah. He further emphasized that the roundabout conversion aligns with RTA’s broader vision to ease traffic flow, reduce congestion, and cut delays during peak hours by up to 50%.The project reflects RTA’s commitment to enhancing Dubai’s infrastructure to meet the needs of the city’s expanding population and urban development. These upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to ensure the road network remains efficient and accessible, supporting Dubai’s position as a leading global city. For more information about RTA’s projects and future developments, visit the official RTA website.
