RTA Enhances Traffic Flow on Sheikh Zayed Road

Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed rapid enhancements along Sheikh Zayed Road to boost road capacity and ease congestion. The improvements include expanding the service road near Financial Centre Metro Station (Abu Dhabi-bound) from three to four lanes, increasing its capacity by 25%—from 2,400 to 3,200 vehicles per hour—and cutting journey time from five minutes to two. Additionally, extending the traffic merging distance between Al Khail Road and Financial Centre Street in the Dubai-bound direction has reduced journey times by 25%, ensuring a smoother flow on this vital economic corridor.
