On December 17th, 2024, India International School, Sharjah (IISS) witnessed a remarkable achievement as 10,346 students gathered under the sky to set a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ for the “Most People Painting Tote Bags Simultaneously.” The event, organized by the PACE Group of Education, was designed to promote sustainability, creativity, and environmental responsibility, in line with the UAE’s vision for a greener future.The visionary leadership of the late Chairman, Dr. P.A. Ibrahim Haji, and his unwavering commitment to excellence and sustainability continues to inspire all involved, reminding us of the importance of dreaming big and achieving greatness. As we reflect on his legacy, we embark on this journey together. “One brush… one stroke… one paint… one bag… Together, we create not just art, but a symbol of sustainability, unity, and purpose,” said a spokesperson from the event, reflecting the UAE’s ambition for a brighter future.
The initiative was conceived by Mrs. Shifana Muizz, Vice Principal of India International School Sharjah, and Ms. Safa Azad, Assistant Director of the PACE Group. Their vision was brought to life with the guidance of Senior Director Mr. Aseef Mohammed and Managing Director Mr. Salman Ibrahim, who provided crucial leadership and support. Special thanks were extended to the Executive Directors of the PACE Group—Mr.Latheef Ibrahim, Mr.Shafi Ibrahim, Mr.Abdullah Ibrahim, Mr.Ameen Ibrahim, Mr. Zubair Ibrahim , Mr. Bilal Ibrahim , and Mr. Adil Ibrahim—for their ongoing contributions to the event’s success.
Aligned with the UAE’s mission to reduce single-use plastic, the event saw participation from schools including India International School, Sharjah, Gulf Asian English School, Sharjah, PACE British School, Sharjah, Delhi Private School, Ajman and PACE International School, Sharjah. IISS played a pivotal role in leading the charge, marking its eighth attempt to set a GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™. The active involvement of school principals, Dr. Manju Reji (IISS), Dr. Nasreen Banu (GAES), Dr. Vishal Kataria (DPSA) and Mr. Mohsin Kattayat (PIS) underscored the collective effort toward achieving this goal. The event was made possible with the contributions of the senior leadership team, teachers, IT department, Admin team, support staff and parents from all participating schools, whose hard work ensured the smooth execution of the day’s activities.GUINNESS WORLD RECORD™ official Adjudicator Ms. Emma Brain officially declared the accomplishment “Officially Amazing ™ ”. Under the theme “One Brush, One Stroke, One Bag,” each student was provided with a tote bag, paint, and an apron. At the sound of the bell, 10346 students painted their tote bags simultaneously, transforming blank canvases into vibrant works of art. The youngest participants, from kindergarten, proudly displayed their creativity as they painted, setting the tone for a day filled with joy, unity, and purpose.
This event not only celebrated artistic expression but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of sustainability. It encouraged students to understand the significance of reducing waste, promoting reusable materials, and protecting the environment for future generations. The active participation of parents, who supported their children throughout the event, emphasized the collective effort in building a sustainable future. The success of this event stands as an expression to the positive impact young people can have on the world.
