Abu Dhabi: The Director-General of the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority, NCEMA, Obaid Rashid Al Shamsi, said that the UAE strategy is a pioneering model to combat the corona virus. He added that government’s foresight and proactive approach in managing the crisis is the reason it is a leading model.
While delivering a speech on the occasion of International Day for Disaster Reduction, observed on October 13th, Al Shamsi observed that UAE dealt with the pandemic with professionalism while many other countries are facing difficulty containing the virus.
He further said the strategy relies on communication and coordination, with no room for rivalry, opposition or dissonance which helped the UAE take efficient decisions. He also congratulated the leaders and people in dealing with the challenges created by the pandemic.
Al Shamhsi also noted that “despite this storm that hit all countries,” the UAE has proven its effective handling of the crisis by pulling a national effort through strengthening work between governmental and non-governmental bodies. “This created a path which led to safety, so that the UAE society was able to enjoy peace and stability.”
He concluded by saying the success is a combined effort of both the UAE government and the communities showing responsible behavior in dealing the pandemic.
