Abu Dhabi: LuLu Hypermarket, a leading retailer, is commemorating the UAE’s golden jubilee with a series of sales, activities, and CSR projects. From October 21 to December 9, every day 50 products will be given at a 50% discount across its 87 outlets in the UAE under the theme ‘UAE Proud 50.’
Customers who spend Dh100 will be entered into a draw to win a total of 2.5kg of gold. On December 2, to commemorate the UAE’s National Day, a drawing will be held. Fifty winners will be picked, each receiving 50 grams of gold. In all hypermarkets across the country, a festival called “Proudly from UAE” would be held to promote local agriculture and industries.
The shopping app has been enhanced, and there has been a big demand for online purchasing, notably for fresh products, according to Stuart Davidge, head of omnichannel operations. Mega bargains on mobile phones, electronic devices, cameras, IT equipment, and gadgets will be available starting October 26 as part of the ‘DigiTech’ event. People can also trade in their old cellphones, televisions, and laptops. Customers will be able to pay in installments with no interest.
There will be special offers on ethnic clothes, sweets, and snacks, special packages for bulk and corporate orders, and a Diwali Gift Card will be created to commemorate Diwali, the Indian festival of lights. From November 23 to December 2, there will be even bigger and better savings on electronics, mobile phones, and gadgets as part of a 10-day event.
Lulu is teaming up with Emirates Red Crescent and Reach Campaign to launch the ‘Give Dh2 Save 2 Eyes’ project, according to Shabu Abdul Majeed, director of retail operations. Lulu will raise money for the ’50 Days to Transform 5 Million Lives’ program, which aims to prevent and eliminate river blindness.
