Sharjah: Sheikh Fahim Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah’s Department of Government Relations (DGR), met with John Le Fondré, Chief Minister of Jersey, at the Buhais Geology Park in the emirate to discuss expanding cooperation in a number of areas, including the environment, natural reserve protection, and archaeological site preservation. Sheikh Majid Al Qasimi, Director of DGR; Peter Jackson, Architect Advisor in His Highness the Ruler’s Office, Sharjah; Hana Saif Al Suwaidi, Chairperson of Sharjah’s Environment and Protected Areas Authority (EPAA); and Rawda Al Katbi from the Buhais Geology Park were among those who attended.

The panel also looked at how the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in Jersey and Sharjah’s EPAA could work together to build a combined action plan for collaboration and expertise exchanges.
The Jersey group was given a tour of the Buhais Geology Park at the conclusion of the meeting, where they learned about the park’s unique geological and archaeological characteristics, which stretch back over 125,000 years.
Sheikh Fahim emphasized Sharjah’s desire to share knowledge with other cities and countries around the world, especially the Government of Jersey. John Le Fondré expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome, stating that the UAE and Jersey have had a strong and dynamic connection for many years, which has led to growth and partnership prospects in many fields.
