Dubai opens drive-thru lab to cut waiting time by 90%

Dubai: Dubai Municipality has launched a new “Drive-Thru” unit at Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL), significantly reducing waiting times for customers by 90%.Announcing the launch of the new lab service, the civic body said on X: “Dubai Municipality’s Drive-Thru, located at the heart of Dubai Central Laboratory, offers a seamless and hassle-free experience.”The unit is designed to allow users to submit samples without stepping out of their vehicles. The new service is powered by cutting-edge technology to enhance efficiency and speed in laboratory testing. “Designed with cutting-edge technology, it delivers proactive laboratory services that go beyond expectations,” the Municipality said.DCL is a key facility under Dubai Municipality that provides a wide range of testing, inspection, and certification services. It ensures the safety and quality of various products by providing testing services including food and water testing for health and safety compliance, construction materials testing to verify structural integrity, consumer goods testing to ensure compliance with local and international standards and environmental testing to monitor pollution and sustainability measures.The municipality said the Drive-Thru unit at DCL is the “first-of-its-kind in the region for material testing, product inspection, electromechanical device evaluation and equipment calibration.
