Dubai: ALEC FITOUT and design partners Icaria Atelier and LMS created a remarkable, friendly, and enlightening experience for the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) at Expo 2020 Dubai.
The pavilion is designed to provide a reprieve from the bustling and crowded regions elsewhere on the Expo site, with eight nodules interlaced with seats and relaxing areas built of all-natural materials.
Visitors to Expo 2020 Dubai will be led on an exciting trip to learn more about some of the ICD portfolio firms, including Kerzner, DMCC, Emirates Global Aluminum, Dubal Holding, LINQ by ALEC, Emaratech, and Dubai Global Connect, at the ICD pavilion. Upon entering the pavilion, visitors will be immersed in the world of ICD in a 1350 square meter immersive yet relaxing experience that celebrates quality, devotion, sustainability, integrity, and respect.
Douraid Zaghouani, Chief Operating Officer at ICD, said “Dubai is the first city in the Middle East to host the World Expo and we are thrilled to be participating and showcasing the best our emirate has to offer. This inevitably includes ICD and its subsidiaries that have become household names not only here at home but across the globe.”
The ICD experience at Expo Dubai is a spatial narration of the company’s story, delivered through a physical venue that seamlessly integrates natural components with intelligent technology.
The ICD pavilion is a bamboo building that radiates light and movement from the outside, luring guests in through an intriguing audio-visual waterfall aperture that screens the ICD corporate identity. Visitors are surrounded by thick hedges past the waterfall and lead into the pavilion by whirling stems and stalks and twisting grassy slopes. The ICD can accommodate 189 people per journey, or 252 people per hour.
