Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded an AED 798 million contract for the Al Qudra Street Development Project, following directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and under the supervision of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.The project aims to enhance traffic flow, improve road capacity, and support Dubai’s urban expansion. It includes the construction of 2,700 metres of bridges, upgrades to key intersections, and the expansion of Al Qudra Street by 11.6 kilometres. Travel time will be reduced from 9.4 minutes to 2.8 minutes, benefiting 400,000 residents and visitors.His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, highlighted that the project will improve connectivity between major developments, including Arabian Ranches, Dubai Studio City, and DAMAC Hills. The enhancements will significantly boost traffic capacity, with major intersections seeing an increase from 7,800 to 19,400 vehicles per hour while reducing waiting times.The project will also improve access to key residential areas like Town Square and Mira, with further expansions planned in future phases.
