Dubai, :The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai has reiterated the importance of utilizing the remaining days of the amnesty period, which ends on December 31, 2024, to rectify residency violations. With intensified inspection campaigns planned for the coming phase, the GDRFA has urged violators to act swiftly and take advantage of the grace period to avoid legal consequences.
“A Comprehensive Strategy for Stability”
His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the GDRFA Dubai, emphasized that the amnesty period aligns with the UAE’s broader strategy of fostering societal stability and promoting a safe, law-abiding environment.
“The amnesty period for rectifying residency violations is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at enhancing societal stability and creating a safe environment where laws are respected. We urge all violators to take the step now to rectify their status before the end of the grace period, providing them with an opportunity to contribute to building a safe and sustainable community,” said Al Marri.
As part of its efforts to build trust with the community, the GDRFA highlighted the “Contact the Director General” service on its website, which allows customers and community members to connect directly with the Director General for inquiries and feedback, reflecting an open-door policy and reinforcing transparency.
Stricter Measures After Grace Period Ends
Major General Salah Al-Qamzi, Assistant Director General of the Violators and Foreigners Follow-up Sector, emphasized that once the grace period concludes, strict measures will be enforced to ensure compliance.
“The current grace period is a golden opportunity to rectify residency statuses. We are committed to enforcing laws with full transparency and fairness, and we urge violators to act now to avoid legal accountability,” said Al-Qamzi.
Support for Rectification and Smooth Processing
The GDRFA underscored its dual approach of strict enforcement and humanitarian support. Facilities such as the Al Awir Residency Violators Center are fully equipped to assist violators in regularizing their residency status efficiently and safely. These designated centers provide comprehensive services, ensuring a smooth process for those seeking to rectify their situations.
Community cooperation remains a key focus. The GDRFA has encouraged residents to spread awareness of the amnesty program and report any illegal activities through the AMER Contact Center, available 24/7 at 8005111.
Act Now for Stability
The GDRFA urged violators to benefit from the facilities and avoid legal repercussions by addressing their status before the deadline. “Legal rectification is not just a requirement—it is a step towards personal and social stability,” the GDRFA said in its statement.
