Ras Al Khaimah, UAE – April 27, 2025 – Dr. Sughu Malayil Koshy of Umm Al Quwain has been named the 11th President of AKMG Emirates, the UAE-based organization of doctors of Kerala origin. He will officially assume office at the Maraya 2025 Biennial Convention held at the Ras Al Khaimah Cultural Development Center.
The event will be presided over by outgoing President Dr. Nirmala Raghunathan, with the Indian Consul General in Dubai, Shri Satish Kumar Sivan, serving as the Chief Guest. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the AKMG Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Azad Moopen, Founder Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare.
The convention will also mark the induction of new office bearers, including Secretary-General Dr. Feroz Gaffoor and Treasurer Dr. Jamaluddin Abubaker. Renowned actress Anarkali Marikar will release the event’s souvenir, while the presidential theme, “Celebrating Cultural Diversity,” will be inaugurated by former President Dr. PM Sirajudeen.
More than a thousand delegates and their families are expected to attend the event, hosted by AKMG’s Region 7 Sharjah chapter, featuring cultural performances by members from across the UAE.Ahead of the convention, the third Medecon World Congress will take place on April 25 in Dubai, showcasing the latest in global healthcare innovations
