SHARJAH: The 39th Sharjah International Book Fair adopted a ‘safety first’ approach adhering to internationally approved health and safety protocols to contain the coronavirus. This has enabled thousands of visitors to enjoy the fair in a safe environment at Expo Centre Sharjah since November 4.
All exhibition halls are disinfected daily by special personnel taking medical-grade sterilizing trolleys across the fair venue, covering every nook and cranny during a 360-degree disinfection drive of both surfaces and the air. This is done from 12 midnight to 5 am daily.
The disinfection teams deploy the intelligent innovation launched by UAE-based Sanitizexperts. They sterilize 800 square metre area in 150 minutes. They are said to be around 10 times efficient than other disinfection methods.
The venue is made safe for visitors and exhibitors by adopting a multiple-barrier approach of world-class UV disinfection systems. Other safety measures taken include pre-registration of visitors in scheduled time slots, thermal scanners, and color-coded bracelets to monitor entry and exit timings of all visitors.
The fair comes to a close on 14th November.
