Sharjah: The seventh edition of the ‘Come on Kerala’, the largest Indian commercial, cultural, entertainment, and knowledge fair in West Asia organized by ‘Gulf Media’ aims to strengthen India-Arab commercial and cultural relations, had a grand inauguration at the Sharjah Expo Center. The next two days and nights will be a festive celebration for expatriates. On the first day, there was a flow of visitors to the grand event where culture, entertainment, knowledge, and commerce converge. The inauguration of the fair, held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, a member of the UAE Supreme Council and the Ruler of Sharjah, was conducted by Abdulla Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Also present were Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Sharjah Expo Center, Hams Abbas, Chief Editor of Gulf Media, Dr. Asad Moopen, founder and Chairman of Aster DM Healthcare, Bandar Al Othman, Chairman of O-Gold, and Ahmad Abd Al-Thawab, co-founder and director of O-Gold.Joy Alukkas International Marketing Head Thomas Antony, Hotpack Group CTO and Executive Director P.B. Anwar, Global Business Director and Sustainability Head Mike Cheetham, Highlight Builders CEO P. Mohammed Faseem, Smart Travel Group Chairman Afi Ahmed, Media Joint Editor P.I. Naushad, Gulf Media Middle East Operations Director Salim Ambalan, among others, attended the event. After the inauguration, the distinguished guests visited the exhibition city.The fair has set up exhibition stalls from over 200 institutions from the Gulf and India. The grand fair began with the ‘Little Artist’ painting competition, in which over a thousand children participated on Friday morning at 10 AM. The competition, held in junior and senior categories, will continue for the next two days. At the ceremony held at 5 PM on the main stage, ten college alumni groups who were finalists for the Alumni Impact Award were honored. The musical night led by Bollywood singer Salman Ali, featuring a medley of Hindi songs, was a treat for the visitors. On Saturday, the Jalil Cash & Carry Pioneer Award and the Indo-Arab Women Excellence Award will be presented to honor outstanding Indian-Arab women. Prominent personalities including South Indian star Priyamani will receive the Indo-Arab Women Excellence Award. The Business Achievement Award, Business Icon Award, and Arabian Legacy Award will be presented at the ceremony taking place on Sunday. The chief guest of the event will be film actor Mohanlal.
