DUBAI: Starting today and lasting a month, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) will host a variety of activities as part of its participation in the Dubai Fitness Challenge 30*30. The activities are part of the ministry’s ‘Ma’kom for an Active Lifestyle’ initiative.
The ministry’s activities, which are aimed at both employees and the general public, aim to encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles, including healthy food and physical activity, in line with the national agenda’s goals of reducing disease and obesity, and to support the National Strategy for Wellbeing, which encourages people to live a healthy and active lifestyle.
Dr. Hussain Abdul Rahman Al Rand, Assistant Undersecretary for the Public Health Sector, said that the participation aims to boost good energies, spread happiness, and boost productive capacities, all of which contribute to the creation of a healthy, happy, and productive society. The ‘Ma’kom for an Active Lifestyle’ program, according to Al Rand, is one of MoHAP’s awareness-raising efforts targeted at reducing obesity and increasing community understanding of healthy lifestyles. It’s also part of a national initiative to minimize the prevalence of non-communicable illnesses by encouraging people to adopt healthy habits and creating a supportive environment for health.
