Kochi: Kerala’s own airline, AirKerala, is preparing to make history in India’s aviation sector. Marking a significant milestone in its journey, AirKerala will inaugurate its state-of-the-art corporate office on April 15 in Aluva, heralding the next phase in its operational launch.The inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed corporate office, located near the Aluva Metro Station, will be held at 5:30 PM and will be officiated by Kerala’s Minister for Industries, P. Rajeev. The grand event will also witness the presence of Lok Sabha MPs Hibi Eden and Benny Behanan, Rajya Sabha MP Haris Beeran, MLAs Anwar Sadath and Roji M. John, Aluva Municipal Chairman M.O. John, Vice Chairperson Saiji Jolly, BJP State President Rajeev Chandrasekhar, senior BJP leader and former Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, along with various cultural luminaries, well-wishers, AirKerala leadership, and senior officials.The spacious, three-storey office complex includes modern aviation training facilities and is designed to accommodate over 200 aviation professionals simultaneously. AirKerala management has announced that the company aims to create over 750 job opportunities by the end of this year.AirKerala will initially operate domestic flights and plans to expand to international routes shortly thereafter. The airline’s first flight is scheduled to take off from Kochi in June.Chairman Afi Ahmed revealed that AirKerala will operate ultra-low-cost flights, and agreements have already been signed with Irish firms to lease five aircraft. Vice Chairman Ayyoob Kallada added that the company also has plans to procure its own aircraft in the near future. According to CEO Hareesh Kutti, the airline will focus on connecting tier-2 and tier-3 cities across South and Central India with metro hubs.The service will use ATR aircraft with 76 all-economy class seats, ensuring affordability and accessibility for all passengers.AirKerala is poised to be a game changer in regional connectivity and a proud new chapter in Kerala’s aviation ambitions.
