Dubai: The world’s largest and tallest observation wheel, Ain Dubai, was inaugurated today by H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs, escorted His Highness to the opening. The groundbreaking project is the most recent addition to Dubai Holding’s varied entertainment portfolio. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed was greeted by Amit Kaushal, CEO of Dubai Holding, and other top executives from the Group. H.H. was informed on the major characteristics of the new entertainment destination at the opening, which was also attended by Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), and Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed was shown through the Ain Dubai observation cabins, which provide tourists a superb vantage point for 360-degree views over Dubai and the Arabian Gulf. The 48 passenger cabins that round the massive circumference of the wheel can accommodate over 1,750 people at a time. It takes 38 minutes to complete one full revolution of the wheel. Two of the world’s largest cranes were utilized to assemble Ain Dubai’s major components, and the project used 11,200 tonnes of steel in its construction, which is 33% more than the Eiffel Tower. For every event, the iconic entertainment facility offers amazing and customized one-of-a-kind experiences. Ain Dubai is a feat of engineering that brought together over ten important countries.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed was also briefed on the VIP reception hall and the souvenirs area adjacent to Ain Dubai, which caters to tourists and visitors. His Highness took a commemorative photo with the Dubai Holding team behind the project’s construction at the end of his visit.

The attraction’s inauguration contributes to Dubai’s long-term strategic objective of strengthening its worldwide position as a key tourism center while also enhancing its reputation as a global leader in the leisure and entertainment industry.
