ABU DHABI: Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has launched a range of innovative initiatives aimed at assisting students in adjusting to university life and understanding entrance and academic criteria for the coming academic year.
To date, the initiatives that have been launched have successfully attracted thousands of prospective students.
A new website was established, giving a number of free courses on a variety of subjects to students, teachers, parents, and staff members. Approximately 13,000 people from the UAE and other parts of the region have already enrolled in the courses.
In addition, in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences, a virtual orientation program for students called “Marhabtayn Programme” was created. The programme, which is organized and facilitated by academic advisors and existing students to educate incoming students to the university’s culture, academic programs, campus facilities, and student life, enables for interactive discussions and enlightening talks to take place.
Bassam Murra, Director of Marketing, Enrollment and Registration at ADU said that despite the hurdles posed by COVID-19, ADU launched the steps to guarantee that new students and families had a seamless university experience. He also said that a number of seminars were organized to provide students with the information and resources they need to start the new academic year with confidence.
Students also have access to a variety of activities, like as workshops and competitions, that help them prepare for future labor market needs. The academic programs are in step with continually changing trends and market needs, and are equipped for students to succeed in the future.
ADU has also incorporated systems such as MS Team, which allow students to request virtual meetings with their advisers. Prospective students can also book campus tours and obtain all of the information they require as ADU students. More than 5,000 local and international students have already scheduled appointments as a result of this effort.
More than 40 virtual sessions have been organized by the Student Recruitment and Admission Office to promote the programs available, the campus, and student life, as well as provide assistance and support to students seeking admission. Hundreds of high school students have attended as a result, and are eager to learn more about their next academic step.
