Abu Dhabi: The Abu Dhabi Government will take part in GITEX Technology Week for the tenth time, from the 17th to the 21st of October 2021, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
The Abu Dhabi Government pavilion will feature thirty-one government and academic entities showcasing more than 100 innovative digital transformation initiatives and projects to provide visitors with a one-of-a-kind experience through a unified platform for all government entities.
The Abu Dhabi Digital Authority (ADDA), which manages the Abu Dhabi government’s digital transformation, organized a virtual preparatory meeting with leaders from the participating government entities to coordinate efforts and finalize preparations. The significance of taking COVID-19 preventative measures, such as social separation and the mandatory wearing of face masks, was emphasized at the meeting.
The involvement of the Abu Dhabi Government is part of the UAE’s 50th-anniversary festivities, during which the country will reflect on its incredible journey over the last 50 years and prepare for the future 50.
The Higher Committee of Digital Government is overseeing this involvement as part of its attempts to develop a governance framework across the Abu Dhabi Government and achieve a fundamental shift in the notion of government services in order to move towards a digital future.
The Abu Dhabi Government participation focuses on four key pillars: “Government Services”, for smooth and seamless experience to meet the needs of customers through digital channels and service centres; “Government Solutions”, promoting cooperation and supporting joint initiatives across various governmental entities and institutions to maximise the value of the initiatives’ output; “Data and Artificial Intelligence”, to support the decision-making process and enhance government pro-activeness; and “Ecosystem Enablement”, driving socio-economic growth by accelerating integration with digital systems, applications, stakeholders, customers, and business partners.
The Abu Dhabi Government hopes to strengthen strategic public-private relationships, explore new areas of collaboration, and use the expertise of key technology companies to promote the emirate’s digital goal by participating in GITEX Technology Week 2021.
The Abu Dhabi Government Virtual Pavilion Experience was launched that allows customers to visit the pavilion virtually from anywhere in the world. Virtual Assistant service was also launched to contact and communicate with the 31 collaborating government bodies and academic partners, as well as get information about events and activities at the pavilion.
The engagement of the Abu Dhabi Government follows on from its participation last year, which included 24 government and academic bodies, as well as global technology businesses, and attracted over 10,000 visitors. In 2020, the pavilion witnessed the signature of 12 agreements and memorandums of understanding, as well as the display of 88 innovative digital transformation projects and initiatives.
