Hatta, Dubai : In a significant step toward enhancing public services and supporting regional development, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has officially launched a new driver training and licensing branch in Hatta. Developed in collaboration with Emirates Driving Institute (EDI), the facility aims to streamline access to essential driving services for residents of Hatta and surrounding areas. The initiative comes as part of RTA’s strategic vision to expand service reach across all regions of Dubai, aligning with the government’s broader goal of elevating Hatta’s profile as a key tourism and residential hub. The new centre addresses a longstanding challenge for local residents who previously had to travel to Dubai or neighboring emirates to complete driver training and licensing procedures.Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, commented: “The launch of this facility underlines RTA’s commitment to decentralizing vital services and enhancing the quality of life for residents. The partnership with Emirates Driving Institute ensures the highest standards of training and service delivery.”
The fully operational centre offers a comprehensive range of services, including traffic file openings, theoretical and practical training, testing, and the issuance of driving licences for both light vehicles and motorcycles. Licences are available for both manual and automatic transmissions.
The Hatta branch is now the 27th RTA-approved driver licensing facility in Dubai and is expected to serve as a model for future public-private collaborations aimed at improving accessibility and service excellence.
