Malayali Student Shines at Poetic Heart Poetry Festival

Dubai: Sixteen-year-old Tahani Hashir, a Malayali student, made a remarkable impression at the 14th edition of the “Poetic Heart” Poetry Festival held at the Emirates Institute of Finance, Dubai. Tahani was among the 11 poets from various nationalities who presented their poetry at the prestigious event.What makes her participation even more special is that she is the youngest poet ever to take part in the festival. Organized by Soka Gakkai International Gulf (SGI Gulf) in collaboration with Dubai Knowledge Village and Dubai International Academic City, the Poetic Heart festival has been an annual literary celebration since 2012, bringing together 90 poets over the years.Tahani, who began writing poetry at a young age, has already published three poetry collections. Her first book was released in 2018 when she was just 10 years old. A native of Kollam, Kerala, she is currently a Grade 11 student at Our Own English High School, Sharjah.Her exceptional talent and passion for poetry continue to inspire young literary enthusiasts, making her a shining star in the international poetry scene.
