SHARJAH: H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, paid a visit to the Expo Centre Sharjah on Thursday to attend the 40th Sharjah International Book Fair. He examined a number of pavilions representing a variety of bodies, institutes, and centers, telling officials of their participation in the exhibition as well as the publications, rare references, books, and varied programs on display.
Sultan bin Ahmed was briefed on the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority’s numerous programs and coverage, as well as what it delivers to the public everywhere through direct dialogues and interviews with guests from within the exhibition, during his visit to the authority’s pavilion. The Canadian pavilion, Sharjah Police General Command, Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority, Arabic Language Academy, the Department of Culture, the Ministry of Education, the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, the Judicial Department, and the National Archives in the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, as well as the Al Qasimia University Pavilion, were among the pavilions visited by Sheikh Sultan.
Several officials and media professionals accompanied him on the tour, including Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority, Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, Tariq Saeed Alay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, Hassan Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council, and others.
