DUBAI: Africa Oil Week (AOW) and Lean In Oil (LIEN) have partnered to sponsor AOW Accelerates Diversity & Inclusion during AOW 2021, with the goal of promoting more equity practices in future workplaces, particularly for women, in the energy sector.
The program will look into the role of diversity and inclusion in Africa’s energy transition, encourage progressive dialogue, and promote inclusive growth throughout the industry, all while engaging male allies in the conversation.
AOW 2021 will facilitate crucial talks where women leaders will share their thoughts and experiences on their contribution to the sector, presenting different viewpoints than their male counterparts, in order to empower the next generation of female leaders in the energy industry. Stakeholders will promote a forward-thinking conversation about equity challenges throughout the African energy value chain. They will also engage in discussions to determine the best course of action for increasing female participation in the sector.
The 2021 Power List, carefully handpicked by Africa Oil Week and Lean in Energy, has 50 inspirational women – from Morocco to Cape Town, from Manager to Minister – who are working and empowering others across the African energy sector. As the traditional energy business prepares to undergo a transformation, there has never been a more critical time to raise diversity and inclusion awareness in our industry, ensuring that women continue to have a say in how this revolution is shaped.
Africa Oil Week 2021, which will take place in Dubai from November 8 to 11, 2021, will bring together key decision-makers and ministers from many African countries as well as the UAE. The conference will provide a forum for critical conversation, solutions, and positive participation on significant issues confronting Africa’s energy sector. It will also make it easier to form relationships with Middle Eastern players and encourage investment into the African oil and gas industry.
