Abu Dhabi: As part of both parties’ desire to fulfill their national roles, the National Archives (NA) acquired 251 boxes of historical papers from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s central archives. The documents have much importance and will be preserved as part of nation’s memory and made accessible to scholars and people interested in the history of the UAE and the Gulf region.
The NA expressed its delight at obtaining the documents, which included data and information on the ministry’s efforts to build foreign relations after the UAE was formed. Abdullah Majid Al Ali, Executive Director of the NA, thanked the ministry for the valuable documents.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation’s Assistant Undersecretary for Support Services, Abdullah Mohamed Al-Blooki, praised the NA’s “e Preservation and Restoration Centre” and complimented the NA for working with the ministry’s “Documents and Archiving Department.”
The NA’s Director of Archives Administration, Hamad Al Mutairi, stated that the NA is committed to implementing the highest quality standards in all stages of archiving the ministry’s papers.
