Dubai: With only a few days to the opening of Dubai’s World Expo 2020, the UAE National KMCC has gathered a huge expatriate presence. President Puthur Rahman informed that the talks with Expo authorities and the Indian Consulate have come to a close.
KMCC will present a performance of Kerala’s unique martial arts such as Valpayt, Urumi, and Churika on November 5 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Indian Pavilion’s Amphitheater. Kerala’s popular dance genres include Mohiniyattam, Kathakali, Kolkali, Margamkali, Thiruvathira, Aravana, and Oppana. It will be performed as part of an event called ‘Keraliyam’ on December 3 from 6 to 9 p.m. in the indoor auditorium.
The Dubai Millennium Amphitheater, which will hold an art display titled ‘Salam Dubai’ as a symbol of Indo-Arab cultural unification on March 11, will be the main venue of Expo from 7pm to 10pm. It will be a homage to the Indian expatriate community for the Dubai government’s health work during the Covid pandemic era. Eminent artists from India and the United Arab Emirates will be participating in these events. This recognition of KMCC as the UAE’s largest membership movement is also a recognition of Indian expats.
P.S.K. Anwar Naha, UAE KMCC General Secretary, informed that KMCC will also host exhibitions reflecting Kerala’s art and culture, in addition to the glories of Indian pavilions.
The world’s largest cultural and knowledge exchange will take place during Expo 2020. The KMCC is pleased to partner with the Dubai government to organize the largest economic, development, and cultural effort since the recession of Covid-19, according to the leaders. They feel that the presence of political leaders and cultural activists from Kerala in each of the sites would assure the program’s success. The event is being planned by Chief Patron, Shamsuddin bin Muhyuddin; President, Puthur Rahman; General Secretary, Anwar Naha; Treasurer, Nisar Thalankara; and Working President, Abdullah Farooqi.
