Abu Dhabi: The Governor of the Central Bank of the UAE(CBUAE), Khaled Mohamed Balama, has launched the second edition of the flagship project, the “CBUAE Youth Dialogue.”
This year’s event was held to commemorate the council’s second anniversary and to engage the CBUAE’s youth in championing innovation and technology to achieve the UAE’s Towards the Next 50′ strategy, in conjunction with the UAE’s upcoming Golden Jubilee.
The event discussed current trends in the financial and banking sectors, such as blockchain, FinTech, and RegTech, as well as the potential of these technologies in fueling the 50-year strategy, which would enrich the youth’s thinking and prepare them to lead the sector in the future.
Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Teleworking Applications, talked at the CBUAE Youth Dialogue about the relevance of artificial intelligence in the UAE’s economic development.
Balama noted in his opening remarks that the UAE has established the foundations for its community’s progress and prosperity over the past fifty years as an embodiment of its wise leadership’s vision and the ambitions of its people. CBUAE aspires to empower the UAE’s youth to help the country achieve another fifty years of progress, fueled by an entrepreneurial spirit and a thorough understanding of cutting-edge technology.
He went on to say that it is crucial for CBUAE to educate the next generation about the critical role they play in realizing our leadership’s ambitious goal, as well as the critical role of financial technologies in doing so. He also mentioned that the CBUAE Youth Council is proud to have held the second edition of the Youth Dialogue in this respect, and that the CBUAE Youth Council will continue to effectively represent and educate the next generation of changemakers.
The Youth Dialogue brought together senior employees from CBUAE and other UAE regulators, including Abu Dhabi Global Market, Dubai International Financial Centre, and Dubai Blockchain Centre.
The dialogue’s goal was to develop the CBUAE’s young in many key disciplines and give them with the required information and knowledge to shape the banking and financial sector’s future.
