Abu Dhabi: The University’s special 10-year report, which highlights its most important local and global contributions since its founding, is included in the digital archive. It also includes The Origin Story: An Oral History of NYU Abu Dhabi’s Founding 2005-2010, a historic book that features the voices of people who were instrumental in the University’s vision and early development. A documentary-style film is also available. This is NYU Abu Dhabi is directed by award-winning filmmaker Anthony Geffen and features a series of dynamic discussions with notable guests such as Rima Al Mokarrab, Chair of Tamkeen LLC and NYU Trustee, and Marit Westermann, Vice Chancellor of NYUAD.
The events, which drew over 1,500 people from across the world, provided a chance for NYUAD, the broader NYU worldwide network, and the Abu Dhabi community to reflect on the university’s many accomplishments in its first decade.
NYUAD Vice Chancellor Marit Westermann stated that NYU Abu Dhabi has developed a strong foundation that offers fresh decades of intentional expansion and innovation in undergraduate, graduate, and professional education, transformative research and creative production, in the last ten years.
Her Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, was also thanked for his warm greetings as well as his vision, confidence, trust, and support. She went on to say that she and her Abu Dhabi partners, as well as NYU, are committed to going beyond their ambitious founding visions.
